Monkey Lyly was known for her endless curiosity and playful spirit. Every afternoon, while her mother prepared dinner, Lyly would wander around the house, exploring every nook and cranny. But one evening turned into a story that the whole family would never forget.
The delicious aroma of dinner drifted through the air—sweet bananas and warm rice pudding. Lyly’s stomach growled with impatience. “Mom, is it ready yet?” she asked for the fifth time. Her mother chuckled, “Just a little longer, Lyly. Be patient.”
But patience was never Lyly’s strength.
She wandered into the living room, searching for a way to distract herself. Suddenly, she noticed the TV cabinet—dark, cozy, and quiet inside. The little door was slightly open, almost inviting. With a giggle, Lyly crawled in, hugging her stuffed toy. “I’ll hide here and surprise Mom later!” she whispered.
Minutes passed. The warm wooden cabinet felt like a tiny bedroom. The hum of the kitchen was soothing. Lyly’s eyelids grew heavy. One yawn… then another. Before she knew it, she curled up like a tiny ball—and drifted into sleep.
Meanwhile, her mother finished cooking and called, “Lyly, dinner is ready!” No answer. She checked the bedroom, the garden, under the table. Panic began to rise. “Lyly!” she called louder, worry trembling in her voice.
Then—a soft snore.
She followed the sound and opened the TV cabinet door. There was Lyly, fast asleep, cheeks squished against the shelf, clutching her toy, completely unaware of the chaos she caused. Her mother couldn’t help but laugh through her relief. Carefully, she picked Lyly up, whispering, “Oh, my sleepy little monkey.”
Lyly blinked awake in her mother’s arms. “Is dinner ready?” she mumbled, still half asleep. Her mother smiled, “Yes, but I almost lost you to a nap!”
That night, Lyly became the legend of the living room—the monkey who turned a TV cabinet into her secret bedroom. And ever since, before cooking, her mother always checks the cabinets first!
